Małgorzata Gurowska
Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw

Małgorzata Gurowska is a visual artist, curator, academic teacher and book author who creates to include the perspectives of other species. She works at the intersection of art, activism and science. Her work addresses political and social issues, seeking more just and empathy-based scenarios. She is interested in bringing together different perspectives, people and disciplines. She has authored and co-authored books including ZOEpolis. Budując wspólnotę ludzko-nie-ludzką (Warsaw 2020); Mandragora – klasyfikcje (Warsaw 2020); Locomotive/IDEOLO (Warsaw 2013, London 2015).

Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in Poland and internationally, including MYCOsystem at the XXII Triennale di Milano Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival (2019), The Penumbral Age at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (2020). Co-founder of the long-term project ZOEpolis on interspecies communities, including exhibitions and artistic research.

Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, leading the Interdisciplinary Drawing Studio at the Faculty of Sculpture.
